Visitor questions
Clear answers, fewer assumptions
Use these answers as a planning frame. For changeable information, the park, Daraga authorities, PHIVOLCS and a current map listing should have the final word.
01Is Cagsawa Ruins in Legazpi City?
No. The park is in Barangay Busay, Daraga, Albay. Legazpi is the nearby transport and accommodation hub most visitors use.
02Can I always see Mayon Volcano from the ruins?
No. Mayon can be hidden by cloud even on otherwise fine days. Earlier hours can be cooler, but no time guarantees a clear cone.
03What are the current opening hours and admission fee?
Hours, access rules and charges can change. Check the latest park or Daraga local-government notice and a current map listing before travelling; confirm again at the entrance.
04How long should I allow?
Allow about 60 to 90 minutes for the grounds, interpretation and photographs. Add more time for the nearby museum or a separately operated ATV activity.
05Are ATV rides included with park entry?
No. ATV experiences are offered separately by local operators. Compare routes, prices, safety equipment, insurance and weather restrictions before booking.
06Is parking available?
Visitor parking is available around the park area, but capacity, traffic arrangements and fees can change. Follow current signs and instructions on arrival.
07Is the site step-free?
Some visitor areas are level, while historic ground can be uneven and routes may change. Travellers with access needs should contact the park or Daraga tourism office before setting out.
08What should I do if Mayon activity or severe weather changes?
Follow PHIVOLCS bulletins and instructions from local authorities. Do not enter restricted zones, and postpone travel when access is suspended or conditions are unsafe.
Useful checks
Open the source, then make the plan
Official pages are preferable for heritage, safety and local notices. Map listings are useful for recent access reports but should not replace safety instructions.
